For various reasons some users need or prefer to browse the Internet just by using their keyboard. The IngServ web site has been created with these people in mind and supports the jumping to specific links by typing keys defined on the web site. Most web browsers support this and can be achieved by pressing ALT + an access key if you’re using Windows. Macintosh users can also utilise this feature by pressing CTRL + an access key. The following list defines which access keys are available throughout IngServ, a visual reminder can also be found underneath the relevant letters on the side menu.
Navigation aids have been implemented to assist text-only browsers and screen readers. These can also be taken advantage of by users who may have Firefox, Mozilla or Opera as their Internet browser. Firefox users need to download the Link Toolbar extension. This can then be accessed via the menus using View > Link Toolbar to suit your browsing needs. Both Mozilla and Opera have the feature already implemented. Opera will display the navigation aids when necessary (which should appear immediately above this page), whilst Mozilla’s can be found from its menus using View > Show/Hide > Site Navigation Bar.
Users of Jaws can also take advantage of the fact that they can skip to the next news item by using ALT + Insert + 2.
As you may have already noticed we have made available three buttons at the top right of each page, which can change the text size to your liking. There are three choices of Small, Medium or Large. Simply click the corresponding button related to your choice. If however you don’t like the sizes available you can easily alter the size yourself by pressing the CTRL button while moving your mouse wheel up or down. If you don’t have a mouse wheel you can achieve the same results by locating the option in your browser menu. Firefox, Mozilla and Opera allow you to do this by pressing CTRL + + to increase the size or CTRL + - to decrease it. Internet Explorer users can do the same but using the menu instead. You can find it using View > Text Size.
Yes that’s right, IngServ can also be viewed from your PDA. This feature is still in its infancy but we’d be happy to hear from you in regards to how it looks on your mobile device.
